Hey out there,
do any of you know if can send my LATE 2006 iMac currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 off to get something like a make-over because it can only go up to Mac OS X 10.6.8 and maybe they can take some parts out and put some better ones in in order to upgrage to the latest OS or at least Lion?
(I would like a fresh install of the OS!)

The problem is that Apple registers the serial number of your iMac with a determined generation and you can't change it. Your iMac can be upgraded to OS X Lion, so call Apple to buy OS X Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 See if your programs are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

They can't replace iMac parts to appear like a new iMac, because that has to replace the whole Mac

You have to install OS X Lion yourself. When you purchase OS X Lion, they'll give you a redeem code that you must type in App Store > Redeem, and it will download OS X Lion. When the download finishes, the Lion installer will appear and you must follow the steps to upgrade to Lion

on the apple website it says that you can upgrade from snow leopard straight to mountain lion, can i do that too?
OS X Mountain Lion requires a Mid 2007 iMac, so you can't use Mountain Lion on your computer
thanks alot for the info but lion can not be found in the app store! So how do I get it?
