Any quick way of deleting the "sticky" I and O points in Events?

The sticky In and Out points in Events can be useful but there are times I would lke to remove them.

Is there a quick way other than by grabbing each point and dragging it to the start or end of the clip?

.... Any ideas about my other question (skimming/scrolling in the Event Viewer) or am I doing everything that's possible already?

you're looking for Thy Ol' I/O-Handles under the viewer window, such as in FC/pro, right?

'problem' by concept is: there's actually only one window for both - project and events.

(wrong: in FCPX v.06 allows now - as in FC/p - TWO windows side by side)

by concept, you're skimming either in event OR project.

doing so, the viewer switches automatically to what is of interest now.

a handle in the viewer window would have to be told WHAT you like to scroll thru ...

you'd have to click on that clip, go back to viewer, click on handle …

=> skim in the Event/Project window and you're done.-

... your familiarness with FC/p or Pinnacle makes you tripping .. 😉

imho, it does 😁

I'm teaching for quite a while a musician how to use FCPX.

He's biased by Pinnacle too and extremely impatient:
"Explain me the basics later - how do I accomplish the following effect: …???"

He com-ple-te-ly misses the advantages of that new, different GUI!

(e.g. he's still thinking in/using 'tracks', and is shy off secondary storyline. compound clips, multicam etc)

I well remember when being confronted with the new paradigms 5y ago (iMovie08) - it was in my opinion a complete weird interface.

meanwhile, although just hobby usage, I'm 'flying' thru projects

and the new vers.06, allowing to set multiple selections in a clip, will optimize my editing-process again by factor 500% (I just have to teach me the new keyboard shortcuts).

... shortcuts + MagicTrackpad = awesome!

… but a nice inspiration to try a few new tricks I've learned for Motion5.

maybe I'll find the time to re-enact that ....

doesn't look that complicated .....

when I accomplish to built such an 'effect'

you HAVE to use it in your next project

and publish it here! 😉
