iOS 6.0.1: Loses LTE/4G when off Wi-Fi - no internet

Hi. Since yesterday's update, which I did over the air, my iPhone has lost LTE/4G connectivity 3 times since moving from Wi-Fi to a cellular area. No internet at all. Airplane mode toggle does nothing. A reboot seems to fix it, but then it happens again.

I am on AT&T in Chicago. I had no issues of this kind in iOS 6.0.

So to clarify:

1. I'm on Wi-Fi at work. No issues.

2. I leave the Wi-Fi area and go to a cellular signal where there is enormous LTE (middle of downtown Chicago).

3. There's no LTE/4G icon. Airplane mode toggle does nothing. Toggling cellular data does nothing.

4. Reboot seems to correct it until it happens again.

Is anyone seeing this? And does anyone have any ideas or fixes? I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with Sandy or anything on the network simply because a reboot fixes it and it started right after the update.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I don't have a solution yet, but just wanted to let you know that you're not crazy. My iPhone 5 has the same issue since the upgrade to 6.0.1.

I have spotty wifi service in my house, so when my wifi gets hung, I disable it to finish my download via LTE, but I have no data signal. It shows full bars and AT&T, but the words LTE or 4G are missing. It's just blank. I too tried toggling airplane mode and cell data. The only workaround is to power cycle the phone. I did not have this problem with 6.0.

Not that it matters, but I'm also in Chicago on AT&T. This is most definitely a bug that Apple needs to address in the next release.

Not crazy - I'm experiencing the same issue.

LTE was great for me in my area on Rogers until 6.0.1 - now it's annoying.

Also, I'm going to have to troubleshoot apps - because it keeps opening GPS/Location services and keeping it open for hours until the battery drains out. It's super annoying.

Once I turn location services off, things are great. For such a huge battery supposedly - it gets worse life than my 3 year old iPhone 4. In fact, in my opinion, which is not clinically backed by me writing down timing - it's the worst iPhone I've had for runtime. And I've had a 3G/3GS/4 (No 4S) and now a 5.

I really was not impressed by the lack of revision betas on 6 and now it was a long wait for 6.0.1 - I'd like to see a bunch of work on the OS instead of a million new products... they're as bad as my work lately with awesome new products that don't work as well on release as I'd like. 😉

I am in Austin, Texas, I'm on AT&T and am having the same experience with LTE on 6.0.1 (iPhone 5). I just updated last week and all data services stopped working when not on WiFi. LTE was previously working great on 6.0, but not since I upgraded to 6.0.1. I can make and receive calls normally. I can send regular text messages, but not iMessages. Also, the Internet does not work, nor does e-mail. However, the instant that I'm back on a WiFi network, everything comes back online and new mail begins to download.

Perhaps a Genius Bar visit is in my future?
