Time Machine not backing up after repair of PB.

I tried to continue using Time Machine after repair of PB (hard drive and RAM) but Time Machine caused G-Drive to churn for hours until I cancelled. There's room on the G-Drive (500 GB) but it will not accept a backup. Also ran Mac Utilites which also hung and cancelled that. I am able to copy to and read from G-Drive. G-Drive defective?

Hi, what Mac Utilities is this you ran?

Have you looked through Pondini's extensive TM help site?

Can't imaging something not being covered there.

I was using Disk Utilities from the program CDs.

Nevertheless, I looked through the Pondini links you sent and noticed that Permissions might be causing the problems. So I ran "Repair Disk Permissions". It took more than an hour to scan and repair. I then ran "Repair Disk" on the G-Drive just for good measure. It also found problems which it fixed. I then chose "Backup Now" and it took some time but was successful. I notice that the PB boots up faster now and I am hoping the application freezes and quits (since the hard drive repair) will also disappear.

Thank you very much for your advice.
