Problem after update 5.1

Hey guys,

So last nightI updated my apple tv to the new software 5.1. I turned it back on today and got the update screen, saying it was successful and what was in the new software. I tried to click continue, but nothing happened. I tried hitting the up and down arrows on my remote, still nothing. Also tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, still the same thing. I know the remote is working because I can hear the clicking in the backround everytime I hit a button on the remote. How can I fix this? Reset is an option but I dont know how to do so, or if I can without being able to access anything in settings. Any ideas?
