SIM Not Valid after iOS 6.0.1 update

Hello All,

My iPhone 5 (AT&T) is unusable with the below error message after restoring it in iTunes to upgrade to iOS 6.0.1. I recieve the below error message "SIM Not Valid". My phone has never been jail broken and has the AT&T SIM card it came with. This phone has already been replaced once because of a hardware problem with the 1st phone I received.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to waste time at the Apple Store again and this is my only phone, so I would like to get it up and running ASAP.

Thanks.

Spent 2 hours on the phone with Apple support, with 3 different techs and the issue has not been resolved. The last tech insisted that I got to AT&T and have them replace the SIM card, so I did and it didn't help. I've already figured out what the problem is from another thread, but the phone support people are too arrogant to listen.

I want to get this phone working. Nothing is wrong with it. Something is wrong with Apple's activation process for this phone.

Spent 2 hours at the Apple store. Seen a Genius. I told them about what I'd found online about the phone profile probably being setup incorrectly, but they said it is fine and it was set to AT&T. They tried restoring my phone, which didn't help. They replaced my iPhone 5. This is my 3rd iPhone 5. I go home and do a restore and upgrade to update to iOS 6.0.1 and I HAVE THE "SIM NOT VALID" MESSAGE AGAIN! I'M BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!!

APPLE ARE YOU READING THIS?!

No, Apple are not reading this.

As for when you called Apple, have you spoken with a Senior Advisor yet? If not, call again and at the beginning ask to speak with a Senior Advisor, they can usually do more than the regular advisors can (same as with many Telco's when asking to speak with a supervisor gets you to someone with more power).

I've spoken with a senior advisor. He opened a tech ticket. They were supposed to get back to me today, but didn't, so I went to the Apple store because I've been without a phone since Friday night. They replaced the phone. What is happening to me is exactly what has happened to all the people in the thread that I linked, but no one at Apple listens.

The senior support person I talked to today still couldn't provide an update on my engineering ticket. I guess whoever responds to the engineering ticket only e-mails the person who sent it and the 1st senior support person I talked to on Saturday has been out. The person I talked to today did call the Los Cerritos (CA) store to have them give me a brand new device, not linked to the old ones at all, but the store refused. So still waiting...
