Okay, so you have very good evidence that it is not the sim card. Have you done a complete Reset to Factory Settings? In other words, have you...

1). Backup your iPhone to your Computer or iCloud

2). Connect to iTunes and do a Restore

3). Do Not Sync to your Backup, but rather allow the iPhone to Restore as a Factory New-Out-Of-The Box iPhone.

4) Activate the Phone and try and send an SMS Message

5). If all is well re-connect to iTunes and Sync with your Backup

If SMS still did not Send ...Get a New iPhone.

Very odd. When you did the Restore, did you Restore as a new phone? If not, that might be worth a try. Also, a reisntall of iOS might work too.

If you want to try that, here are the steps:

1. Download a clean iOS from here:

http://osxdaily.com/2012/11/01/ios-6-0-1-direct-download-links/

The links are direct to Apple servers. The download is quite large (900MB or so)

Save the .ipsw file to your hard drive

2. Connect the phone to iTunes, right-click it in the left-hand pane of the iTunes window, and choose "Backup"

3. To do the restore, hold OPTION (Mac) or SHIFT (Windows) and click Restore. You get a window to navigate to the .ipsw file you downloaded earlier.

4. When you are asked, Restore as a new phone

5. When the Restore is finished, but before you get your stuff back onto the phone, check to see if SMS is working.

6. Finally, connect the phone to iTunes, right-click it and choose Restore from Backup - you can then choose the backup you made earlier to get your data back onto the phone.

If this doesn't work - the phone is faulty

Hope it helps

I have done that, when it was running

under iOS 6 the sending of SMS stop

immediately and message failure appears

immediately. When updated to ios6.0.1

the message actually is being send out and showed on the

progress bars, when reached half way

of the progress bar then only the message

failure appeared . In my opinion is not

the phone faulty .

You can send messages using your SIM card in another iPhone 5.

You cannot send messages using another SIM card in our iPhone 5.

That means it's not the SIM card or the network.

You have checked the settings, and replaced all the software.

That measn it's not the software.

The only thing left is a fult in the phone itself.

Go the Apple Store, show the problem; get them to try in another iPhone 5. If it works, then ask for a replacement phone.
