I just got my iphone 4S and have yet another question... I set up both my home email & my gmail accounts on it, but how to I get it to show the emails as they come in instead of once every 15 mins or whatever? Does this make sense? In other words, I want to get my emails as they come in, but right now I only see the options to get them either every 15 mins, half hour, manually or whatever..any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The only way to get mail immediately is if the account supports Push. The gmail should if you set it up as an Exchange account.
How can I find out if it does? And how do I set it up that way if so?
Settings, Mail, Fetch New Data. Is that set to Push? For the gmail account, when you added it to the phone did you select the Gmail setting, or the Exchange setting?
No, I didn't..I just used the Gmail setting...is that wrong?

Yes, for regular mail acounts you would need to select to fetch at particular intervals. Creating the account with the regular gmail setting is not wrong, it just does not support push. The only way to get it to support push is to set it up as an Exchange account. The other email account that you have, is that an IMAP or POP account?
I'm not sure...I just set it up under the "other" option... how can I fix this? Sorry for seeming so dumb..but this is my first iPhone (came from a droid Lol)
You are not acting dumb, and it may not be a fix needed. What is your email provider for the "other" email? What is after the "at" sign? As far as the setup of gmail as an exchange account, I don't use gmail, but you should be able to find information on the Google site. I have seen others steered in that direction. The other account more than likely does not support Push, so I wouldn't sorry. You will probably have to leave that to fetch.

Okay, Comcast does not support push. That one will have to Fetch at whatever interval you want to set it at. You will need to lookup the settings for gmail in Exchange. I don't have them here, and I'm leaving in a couple of minutes for dinner. If you cannot find it, I will be back tomorrow, or someone else might chime in and help you out. Good luck.

As Comcast does not support push go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add an account through Exchange and put the same Username and password as your Gmail.
