I know that in FCPX you can move images up and down and from left to right and that you can also rotate them clockwise and anti-clockwise two-dimensionally. Is it possible to rotate them from back to front?

If you want to animate the rotation you would have to do it in Motion, which allows you to move objects in 3D space.
Thank you but it is not quite what I want. I want to be able to rotate the image from back to front over about 2 seconds. The link just tells me how to flip it as an effect but I can't see a way to do it over time.
I probably should have mentioned "over time" in my original post.
Ahh! Thank you. I do have Motion but haven't learned to use it yet. Maybe I can find some online tutorials for this somewhere.
If I were to give it a shot in Motion, I assume I would open the image in Motion, rotate it and save it. However, if I save it, doesn't it still remain a normal image - or do I take it into Motion, rotate it and save the effect and not the image - and then export the effect into FCPX. This is one thing that has always confused me about Motion.
You make a Motion project. Import the file and then export from Motion. You can export with transparency and bring the exported file into FCP.

I don't know how to save it with transparency. Hopefully it is an option when I export. What is the right option to choose to export it? Is it Share/Export Image Sequence?
Export QuickTime using the ProRes 4444 codec.

How can I use the very same effect on other images? Do I have to take every single image into Motion to do it now?
Depends what you want to do. There is no send to Motion function unfortunately.
I have about 20 other images I need to rotate in the very same way - same speed and same axis. I'll have to do them all individually then.
If they're all in the same place in the FCP project you can do them all in one Motion project on multiple layers. If you're doing it again and again just use one Motion project, replacing the clip, and exporting each time as a separate file.
