i bought the 15 inch macbook pro with retina display recently and it came with OS X mountain lion, my problem is that i can't access Apple hardware test (AHT) i tried holding D in startup but it didnt work and i i tried option+D but it didn't work either 😟

You have to hold down the D (No Caps "d") key until you see a Spinning globe in the center of the screen. If you let go of that key before the globe appears the system will just boot to the internal drive.

I figured out how to do it
I removed the password from the firmware password utility and then I restarted the computer and held down the d button and it worked :)
