I have a Comcast Xfinity WiFi router and wonder if it will work with a TC.

I have Comcast-Xfinity all in one service (computer, phone, TV). Everything is connected to the Comcast WiFi router. Is the Time Capsule going to work with that router? I read about a lot of problems with the TC, and since I will run a PC and iMac on the same system, is the TC the best backup drive?

It should not be a problem if the TC is simply plugged in and bridged.

The issues are more TM and latest Mac OS being rather network capable in the same terms as wet string is network capable

PC can use the TC.. although the setup is a little bit different to Apple normal setup.. but the Mac has no trouble.

The cheapest backup is external disk. For laptop that is not convenient and therefore backups don't happen.. so TC is about the most economical device available.. at least the 2TB one is good value.

But certainly you can buy better.. a synology NAS can do TM backups and will handle PC better, faster and with auto backup of itself. Synology also now have wireless version. It is about the same price as the TC with no disks so it will cost a bit more. Then again you can service it.. buy hard disks.. access them.. get spare parts like a power supply.. none of which are available for TC.
