yet another iChat connection problem

I've created an account which no longer works.
I get the same message over and over again, saying that the connection has been lost. Sometimes i get the BadDB message...

I've tried this account on another computer, and while an old account works fine on that computer, the new account does not and gives me the same error message. I've tried creating yet another .mac account to no avail.

Both machines are powerbooks G4 15" using tiger 10.4.5
Both have iChat 3.1.2
Both go through an airport express bbox, connected to a Lingo VOIP bit which in turn hooksup to a Motorola Cable Modem (comcast)
