Mac mini reset help!

Hi Everyone. I know how a complete reset and erase should be done, however, in the disk utility my options are greyed out... I want to completely wipe my drive and do a fresh install of Lion but the system will not let me. When I go to "Erase" in the disk uility, the "Format" & "Name" fields are grey and so is the actual "Erase" button. Any ideas? I have mined the web and have found nothing, I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance.

Are you bringing up Disk Utility from your hard drive? If so, you can't erase the disk you're booted from. You should be able to use Disk Utility by booting into Lion recovery mode (boot holding command and r keys down or by holding alt/option key down). Then bring up Disk Utility and you should have the erase option available to you. Then you can do a fresh internet install from the recovery menu.
