Can't connect iPhone 5s to our 2012 Mazda5.

My wife and I both bought iPhone 5s and we can not connect them to our 2012 Mazda 5 bluetooth. The phone does not recognize the car at all. My iPhone 4 had no problem and would sync automatically. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have a Motorola T505 bluetooth speaker/radio transmitter in our older SUV and the new phones connect to that no problem.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

Mazda apparently has a call center just for Bluetooth issues. I was able to get the answer. You can not sync a new iPhone through the stereo buttons or the iPhone settings. You have to use Mazda's built in audio controls and follow along the directions to pair a new device.
