iOS6 Sending / Replying Exchange Mail: Works on 3G, not on WiFi

Hi All,

I'm really hoping there's a solution to this... as the subject says:

iOS6 Sending / Replying Exchange Mail: Works on 3G, not on WiFi

Only Exchange accounts are affected, and this behavior only started with iOS6

When you send or reply to mail on an Exchange account, a non-descript error such as "Sending Mail Failed" occurs, when WiFi is enabled.

It does not seem to affect any other type of mail accounts.

If Wi-Fi is not enabled, or if you disable WiFi temporarily, the error does not occur, and mail sends.

I would be so happy if someone could help figure out why this is happening. My guess is it's a bug, but surely, others must be also having problems.

Probably a problem with your router blocking the exchange server.

I'm on 6.0.1 running exchange and have no problem, with my work/home wifi reply or sending message.

Thanks for your reply, but it's unlikely. For some reason, this started happening when I upgraded from iOS5.

There's no changes to router at my end. The main problem is that error is so non descript, you cannot know *why* it failed. It just says something like "Send Message Failed", and the message sits in the outbox.

Anything else I could check?

same problem here - my iPhone 5 was working fine under iOS6 for both WiFi and 3G/LTE.. now I upgraded to 6.0.1 and I can't get mail via WiFi - I get an error saying that it can't verify my username w/ the Exchange server... but again - nothing changed on the router side or the phone, other than the iOS update...

Works fine under 3G/LTE -

cyclocrossguy, at least you're getting some sort of meaningful message.

Mine just says "Cannot send message".

I'm frustrated that apple will not reply to any feedback I submit on this.

It's terrible when things get broke in an upgrade and you can't roll back.

Someone at apple - PLEASE HELP.

Anybody else with this problem, add it to this thread.

It's weird - it wasn't working, then it works.. then it stops.. I don't quite get it - so far, it's been fine now that I'm at home and using a different WiFi network...

at work, it was intermittent..

what's odder is that it does seem to be limited to Exchange - my other mail accounts worked fine (although I don't know what they are using as their back-end - i.e gmail / yahoo / etc..)

I will say that it seemed that turning off WiFi for a bit and using the 3G connection - that would seem to clear things up - some mail would come through, and then I could switch WiFi back on and it would then work for a while.
