Ipod Touch 5g-Battery Issue

Has anyone had a problem with their Ipod touch 5g battery life lately? I downloaded ios 6.0.1 2 days ago, didn't have a problem.

My problem started today. I woke up this morning, checked my mail for about 10 minutes (100% battery life), went to school listening to music (still 100% battery life). I used a pdf for 15 minutes (95% batterly life). These are things i normally do.

Two hours later at school, I noticed that my Ipod was off (and I didn't turn it off), and really hot. I turned it back on the what was 95% now was 55-60%. That's a first since having this device. By the end of the day (5 hours of school), it was red 20%. Interesting.....

I came home, charged it to 55-60%, removed it from the charger, slept for 2 hours, battery life is 15%.

1. Bluetooth is off.

2. Apps are not running in the background.

3. Ipod only fetches 3 email accounts.

Ok look, the iPod touches battery isn't supposed to last all day, if you have had an iPod touch before you probably already know this. The devices battery isn't supposed to last as long as an iPhone so just because it only lasts you 6 hours on wifi that's actually really good, because from my experience on my 4g my battery last 4 hours of constant use, maybe a bit longer, on my 5g it last about 6 or 7 hours of constant use. Using the Internet destroys the battery people. When they say that your iPod can last for up to 8 hours on video playback, well when your on video you aren't using wifi.

Disagreed. My iPod Touch 4G could easily last 4 to five days w/ wifi on (Push enabledfor 1account, rest if Fetch manually) with normal use (some music, audiobooks and ocasional surfing).

As for this new 5th generation: freshy restored (no apps from my account0 I set it on looped music at 1 AM this morn, no wi-fi, no configured Push accounts. Checked it this morning around 11 (remeber 40 hours ifs the stated duration) and again it was dead. This is one is most certainly faulty.

I have had exactly the same problem. I was so happy with the battery life on my 5th gen (after replacing my 3rd gen). I mostly use my iPod Touch for podcasts, checking emails/facebook and some Skyping now and again.

I installed the latest iOS just before going on holiday about 2 weeks ago and it's been unusable as a mobile device. I have to keep the iPod plugged into my laptop to use it otherwise I lose the full charge in 10 minutes (or I can Skype for about 2 minutes). I've gone from being a proud owner to a really unhappy one. I've just reset the iPod and I'm currently restoring it to January settings to see if it fixes the problem. If not, I'll be sending it back to Amazon for a refund and I'll see what Samsung has to offer for a similar price. I paid too much for this to spend my own time fixing it.
