LTE not available on LTE enabled network in Belgium (Belgacom)

I was very excited about the opening of the first public LTE network in Belgium by the carrier Belgacom.

This carrier runs LTE on 1800MHz which is supported by my european iPhone 5.

Apparently Apple blocks access or is not willing to provide a carrier settings update for us to access this LTE network?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

AFAIK this is not a policy, unless it is a policy to willingly discriminate networks? Or is it a decision?

Haa, who knows, right? I'm glad that you're still being ignorant.

By the way, you're still breaking those two rules. You're trolling us too.

How about taking a hike? 🙂

Thank you poutchi, bennydirinck and BartJanssens for your ideas and replies. I had a glimmer of hope to break the 4G impasse.

I've just been back to the UK last week and I popped my new Three on 4G SIM card into my Belgian phone. 4G came alive and the experience was wonderful. It was like an awakening.

Coming back to Belgium and putting my old SIM card back in my phone and seeing 4G disappear was depressing!

Dear All,

I only asked if there was a way to contact Apple directly about this issue. Whether LTE will or won't be activated on our phones. And yes I pointed out that LTE is available on the iPad mini.

Yet my posts were removed.

I find this hard to believe.

I am very disappointed, I've been using Apple products for more then 20 years, I stayed with Apple when things went bad.

I'm sorry if I've offended you.

I'll log of now I won't come back.

Good Bye

Bart
