take multiple screenshots and paste straight into paintbrush/word for editing?

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to mac. Barely got it for several weeks.

I have a task to do which requires me to take screenshots for a multiple times and paste them straight into a same file in paintbrush for editing.

Basically what I do is I am to screen capture a small portion of the screen, paste it into paintbrush, and keep taking screenshots and paste them into the same clipboard in paintbrush. So the desired outcome is I will have like a collections of screenshots combined into just 1 image file.

Or also I'm thinking of another way to do it is to paste them into a Word file and edit them directly in Word by using drawing tools in word.

Because if I Command+Shift+V4 it will come up a file on desktop. First, I have to go to desktop open up the file. Second, select the part i want. Third, copy it and paste into word/paint brush. If i need to take about 40 screenshots imagine i have to do about 120 steps in total :O ?!?!?

I know that I used to do this in window. Just printscreen and Cltr+V (paste) straight into Paint and I can do this multiple times and the clipboard in paint will automatically be expanded as I paste a new screenshot onto it. I find its so much easier and quicker. Or I can do the same thing in Word as well.

Could anyone help me with one quick and easy way to do this with MAC?

I am sooo looking forward for your help!

Thank you guys. hope i can get a solution soon.

PS: I'm using Word 2011, Paintbrush & Seashore apps

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
