Safe to use iPod (5W, 1A) charger for Kindle Touch?

I have an older iPod charger and was wondering if it's safe to use with the Kindle Touch? I travel and carrying several chargers around isn't fun 😝

The output of the iPod charger (model A1205) is rated at:

  • Power = 5W
  • Current = 1A
  • Voltage = Power / Current = 5V

The Kindle Touch is rated at:

  • Power = Current x Voltage = 0.5*5.25 = 2.625W
  • Current = 0.5A
  • Voltage = 5.25V

(Note that the underlined values were not marked on the device but calculated based on the formula P=IV.)
