Why isn't the Show Details button available in my print screen?

I have a Lexmark printer. And no matter what application I try to print from, I don't see a "Show Details" button in my print screen. So I can't modify my print settings, such as choosing a paper type or printing in grayscale, etc.

I looked in the System Preferences, under Print and Fax, Options and Supplies, Driver, but there is no place to choose any printer settings!

That is a function of the print driver software from Lexmark. In the absence of detail regarding your printer model it is impossible to speculate what the cause might be. You might try removing the printer in Print & Fax, and adding it again, ensuring it chooses an appropriate driver.

Go to Lexmark's website to determine if an update is available.

You should also know that Lexmark decided to exit the inkjet printer business a couple of months ago, so support is likely to be limited: http://newsroom.lexmark.com/2012-08-28-Lexmark-announces-restructuring
