In 10.8.2 my Safari doesn't work

I'm using 10.8.2; Safari will go to a website but when I click on a link it will take me to a third party web site... This even happens with Apple in Support when I click on a link. Also, some sites work poorly or not at all (Facebook and YouTube, for example).

I need this to stop doing whatever I downloaded is having it do! (I can use other browsers like Chrome or FireFox or Omni, but I'd really rather stay with Safari.)

The sites change, but recently I was sent to

Or I will often be sent to a site to watch video.

The pevious site came after clicking on a link at NBC News.
