Transfer of calendar from iMac to iPad

iMac: OS 10.8.2

iPad: 6.0.1

iCloud turned on

The problem: calendar dates from the iMac do not transfer to the iPad. On the iMac, System Pref, iCloud and iCal turned on as they are on the iPad.

Suggestions??

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 5.1.1

Use iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar.
