Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to this forum and DIY fixing so a step by step break down would be so helpful!

Every few minutes my Safari will open up and automatically go to a website "http://r.twimg.com/jot" - the title of the page is jot 1x1 pixels.

Do I have some kind of virus and is there any fix to this? It's so frustrating when I'm watching a movie or working on a paper to have Safari randomly pop up every 2-3 minutes.

Any help is seriously appreciated! Thanks.

Sorry, your right I forgot to mention the key info.

Running OS X 10.8.4, Mid-2010 MBP, using Safari with the only extenisions "ad blocker" and "reload" (nothing else),

I don't use twitter. I did turn off extensions but same results.

A new Safari window pops up with this address everytime I open Dashboard: " https://twitter.com/i/jot "

The only time this happens is when I open Dashboard, even when I don't have the Safari application open; if I open Dashboard (thru Finder, F4 key or Dock) it automactically opens Safari app and a window pops open and goes straight to this address. It also does this when I'm already using Safari, doesnt matter which site I'm on. I've cleaned cache and other suggestions still same results.

Curently I do not have any widgets in dashboard, it's empty or it apprears empty. I deleted all widgets and it stopped but I then added a widget and the pop up window came back so I went back and again deleted the widgets and did a OS update but I'm still getting the pop up window.

This is very frustrating and never experienced this before on a apple computer, only a windows OS computer.

Please let me know if you need anymore info. Thanks
