iPhone 5 fails to connect to MacBook Pro (2010) after successful pairing.

I can pair successfully, but when I try to connect it says it can't. I'm trying to share my wireless internet connection over bluetooth PAN as for some reason my laptop will pick up WiFi but my phone does not in some parts of my house.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

You can tether the phone to the laptop if your provider supports it to share your internet connection on the phone to the laptop, but the only way to do it the other way around is if you were to create a wifi network with the laptop and select it in the phone and use the phone on it. You cannot connect the iPhone to the Mac via bluetooth to share the Mac's internet connection.
