Mountain lion: calendar not showing the current date at startup. It's normal?

Hi,

I recently did a clean install to ML (i was using SL before) and i came across a strange issue related to calendar. After the apple logo on startup, dock calendar icon shows at first the July 17th and then the current date.

I'm running a MBP 8,1 (2011) 4gb RAMm, 2,7 GHz i7.

PS. not sure if this important to the thread but on startup after the sppining wheel stops (on apple logo) the mouse coursor appears and i'm able to move him. it takes 10-15 seconds to enter to desktop.

Thanks in advance!

You seem to have omitted the top processes from the output. Aside from that missing information, nothing looks amiss. Has your new install finished the initial spotlight index? It is normal for icons such as Calendar to start off with their default versions and then take on a more dynamic characters when quicklook kicks in. Is your machine behaving differently from other machines you have seen?

Sorry i did not understand what you mean with this.

Those failures plist are something to not worry about?

Yes, the spotlight index is finished.

Frankly, i didn't see any machine works with ML 😐

The only issue (aside the calendar, that you said is normal) what looks odd to me is the apple logo on startup with the mouse cursor after the spinnig wheel and before desktop. Maybe it's normal, but i'm used to speed boot in SL 🙂

Those failures are expected. There aren't any unexpected failures or any "red flag" items listed. There should have been a listing of top processes included in the EtreCheck output. You can run Activity Monitor, showing All Processes and sorting by CPU to see them.

By default, Mountain Lion restarts any applications that had been running when you last logged in. The system can be quite unresponsive during this process. A solution is to simply not logout or restart very often.

The calendar changed at 23:39:49. There's nothing on console with that time. The close i can get is:
