restoring and updating ios

just got my ipod touch 5th gen last week and i recently tried to update my iOS to 6.0.1 and suddenly my ipod touch won't work. when i plug it into iTunes it keeps needing to restore and update. i've restored up to 5 times and still nothing happens, the screen still says connect to iTunes. please help i'm a bit freaked out now 😟

Maybe:

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .


Next try placing the iPod in DFU mode and then restore via iTunes
