I have set up wifi on my new printer but my ipad is not finding it so that I can use AirPrint. Any ideas ? Is there something on the ipad I need to set up?

See if the printer is compatible http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If it is compatible- troubleshooting http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/airprint/
If it isn't compatible you will have to download an app for it - do a search in the app store.
I cannot find a definitive answer about that router. D-Link says it was discontinued about 4 1/2 years ago which puts it on the cusp of potential AirPrint compatibility which means it may or may not be AirPrint compatible. I just don't know.
Try cycling its power to reset it. Also cycle the power on your Brother printer. If you still have no success, see if there is a firmware revision for the D-Link on this page:
http://www.dlink.com/us/en/support/product/di-524-high-speed-2-4ghz-802-11g-wire less-router
You need to select its revision - A, C, D, or E. It should be printed somewhere on the router.
Then check Brother's website for a potential firmware revision:
That's all you can do. If the printer and router are AirPrint compatible, the Brother magically appears in any iOS app that has the ability to print.
Brother's specifications say that printer is AirPrint-compatible, so the only other unknown is your router. What model is it?
Hi thanks for helping. I have a D-link D1-524 router. I did set up the wifi on the printer and it appeared to work.
