How to set up air print using the brother mfc-8710dw

I have set up wifi on my new printer but my ipad is not finding it so that I can use AirPrint. Any ideas ? Is there something on the ipad I need to set up?

I cannot find a definitive answer about that router. D-Link says it was discontinued about 4 1/2 years ago which puts it on the cusp of potential AirPrint compatibility which means it may or may not be AirPrint compatible. I just don't know.


Try cycling its power to reset it. Also cycle the power on your Brother printer. If you still have no success, see if there is a firmware revision for the D-Link on this page:

You need to select its revision - A, C, D, or E. It should be printed somewhere on the router.


Then check Brother's website for a potential firmware revision:

That's all you can do. If the printer and router are AirPrint compatible, the Brother magically appears in any iOS app that has the ability to print.
