Need help with NEW iPad mini???

Hello, I just purchased an iPad mini! I am familiar with the iPhone and iTunes/iCloud, I also have an iPod for several years.

On this iPad mini 16 Gb wifi only, there are 208 photos, a bunch of songs and a pile of apps as I turned it for the first time. I don't have permission to "delete" any of the photos?!? Can you help me with this please?

There are also features on safari that when I try to use I get the message "not enable on display mode"?!? I can't find anything in the user guide for this?

Also, I don't have the option to set up a pass code, as in the user guide and on my iPad and iPhone? Do I need to "switch" something? Can't find anything on this in the user guide downloaded from your web site.

Can't get signed in for messages and FaceTime but sign in ok in everything else?!?

This is a brand new iPad mini and it had photos and apps on it? Is that what you are saying? If that is correct, you bought a store demo and that is probably why you can't delete the photos, set up a Passcode or do many of the rings that you should be able to do.

Where did you buy this Mini?

I read some article about this when iPhone 5 shipped. Supposently it's someone's idea of a practical joke on the assembly line. Don't even attemp to mess with it. Just take it back to apple right away. Insist on a replacement.

Hi, created a case with apple. They called me and asked the same thing, but the reset is another feature that's missing in the settings/general tab?!?

There are also a bunch of people in my "contacts" which were there initially and I can't delete! They have "apple" & "iCloud" emails with phone numbers..... Which the emails don't work, tried emailing my initial question of this post with undeliverable replies from mail server, lol!

Yup, you,re right, just checked the box and it states "demo" on it, what a f#*k'd up thing!

Asked the case apple tech that called me and he said that this serial number was valid and did not state a DEMO,

What next?

It sounds like the store sold you the demo unit they were sent to display.

I would go back to the store and go ballistic.

As i Said earlier, don't even attemp to fix it take it back right away and scream at them. Even if you can restore it I would never accept a demo unit. God knows what it went through.

Yea, but it was new in box and sealed, so I didn't question it ?!?

Heading back to store later, hope they refund my $25 shield cover!

As for your shield, just remove it and save it. Once you get the new iPad mini then take the shield back and have it replaced. Assuming you got it from Zaggs. It's life time guarantee.

As for Walmart which you got screwed by, ASK for store manager then tell him to give you a refund. Then head out to Apple store and get one.

Pretty much what I did, the tech at the Apple store was great, he took the iPad mini I had and set me up in no time. The worst thing was all the crap from the "demo" like contacts and calendar, etc ... all sync'd with my cloud account!

Oh yea, went to the Wal-Mart store, their supposedly tech guy had no idea what I was talking about, lol. Should've went to the Apple store from the get go! It as a purchase on the spur of the moment when I saw the iPad mini....
