I dont care about losing my music, I want their music. Everytime we plug it in, it says sync in progress, then stops without syncing.

Their permisssion is irrelevant. They do NOT own the music. The artist/label owns the music. When you buy music you ONLY buy the right to your own personal use.
Distributing music to others is stealing and is illegal.
