I am currently running Windows 8. However, it did not work with Windows Vista either. When I use the USB, I can use the hotspot without any issue. itunes is installed.
Its only when I try to connect wirelessly that it fails to connect. It shows up as an available wireless connection though.
Ideas? Ive been fighting it for a week now....need some help. It also did not work with my iPhone 4, before the upgrade.

Problem:
Old Saved Authentication Method on PC.
Solution:
Reset by changing the Properties of the selected WiFi hotspot by right-clicking on it, and changing the Security and Encryption types to None/Open. Connect again and you will be asked to enter the password anew, and then be connected.
Thank you for the link, but I have used and tried it. Any other suggestions? USB works without issue, so I'm not sure what's wrong with the wifi.
Well, this is a bit tough because Windows 8 is not yet supported by Apple in relation to using it with an iPhone. To test if the function works on the iPhone can you try to connect another computer or device to Hotspot over wi-fi?

Have you tried to connect another device to the hotspot, besides the Windows 8 computer? Is there something else you can test over wifi to see if it is the personal hotspot or the computer.
I dont have anything. Maybe I can find a freind that does.
Yup, try connecting something else to it, then you'll know where the problem lies.

OK...the wife's iPhone connects to my iPhone without any problem. So...old drivers? Old hardware? Laptop ain't gonna work?
I would say it might have to do with how the laptop connects to wifi. It could be a driver issue, but since you are using Windows 8, I feel anything should have been updated. Does the laptop connect to wifi anywhere else? Can you check that somewhere?
Yes, the laptop connects to other wireless networks without any issue. Perhaps the iphone uses a newer protocol or something. Most of the components on my laptop are no longer supported by the manufacturer. In fact, they are all using microsoft drivers.
