Trouble with monitor (HDMI to DVI) in dual Monitor configuration.

I currently have the Mac Mini 2011, using the HDMI port with a converter provided, converting to DVI. I am using a Thunderbolt to VGA converter for my second monitor. When I boot the system the DVI monitor, connected to the HDMI port, does not initialize. If I re-seat the connection, it does come on. I checked the system settings an everything seems to be okay. It is just a pain….. Any ideas?

Hi, something to try anyway...

Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.

BDAqua,

Thanks for the reply. I did triy the PRAM reset earlier.

I tried your 3 PRAM resets and the SMC reset. It still did not work.

Since I don't always use me second (VGA) monitor all the time, I will keep it unplugged unless I need it. The (HDMI to) DVI monitor comes up without the second one attached.

I will keep on looking for a solution.

Thanks Again,

Jeff
