iMac can't access internet - URL's

Any suggestions for the following?...

iMac cannot connect to internet through browsers (Firefox & Safari). Several other devices iPhone/iPad/PCs all fine on home network with no recent changes made. Cannot obtain IP address through DHCP but assigned manual IP address and can ping local and internet address e.g. 8.8.8.8 or google.com.

Tried wireless and wired connection to router. Reboots of Mac and router etc. but no luck!

I have the same problem.

I have the problem wired! The connection works fine on PC and Xbox but iMac doesn't connect. It says "Cable unplugged". Router is running well and I have tried each port to open the connection to Xbox and PC and they all work. I tried switching the cables if it was broken. Nothing seems to help.

Ideas?
