New iPad restore to iPad mini

I setup my brand new Pad mini to restore from iTunes. I had backed up my old "new" iPad to iTunes, and when the step occurred in the iPad mini to setup new or restore from iTunes. I selected restore. The mail, calendar, and other settings all restored, but none of the apps nor photos were restored to the iPad mini.

Is there a setting in iTunes I did not enable to restore apps and photos?

If I attempt to restore again, won't it back up the iPad mini first and then I may lose all my current apps in iTunes?

Thanks for your help

 Cheers, Tom 😉

I did that when I bought it and installed the first time.

But nonetheless, I tried it again exactly with the following steps:

1. Back-up up my Ipad 3 to iTunes.

2. Delelted and reset to factory settings on the iPad mini

3. Restored the back-up from #1 above.

Same thing, none of the apps or photo's came in. I have been backing up my iPad 3 to iTunes for a long time. Also, when I bought the Ipad 3, I followed the instructions like above to restore from backup to the Ipad 3 (from an iPad 2) and it worked succesfully without any issue.

The iPad 3 and iPad mini are the same capacity, 32 GB. So, thanks for the response, but I am still struggling with this one. I did upgrade the Ipad 3 to IOS 6.0.1.

Thanks again, anyone else with ideas?

I had to do something similar on mine, becuse i recently got a gold iPad mini 3,as a replacement for my old iPad 2,i just did the restore from iCloud, because i make two backups, just in case anything were to go wrong, one time my Wi-Fi dropped in the middle of a restore!,and i just did therestore the other way, from my computer, have you tried a restore from iCloud instead, because when i got mine i first checked that it was running the same version my old iPad was running, and it was, maybe if both iPads are running the same version of iOS it will help,I had to manually enable dictation and Siri afterwards, but it worked, and my new iPad is so much lighter and quicker than my old one
