Stop Mp3 from converting to .mov

I gave a presentation to a church and they posted it on their webpage as a podcast. I downloaded it and put it on my iWeb page, but when I did this the mp3 file was converted into a Quicktime file. How can the mp3 be put into iWeb in such away that it stays as an mp3 so that people can listen to it without needing Quicktime?

I'm not sure if that information was on the links. Perhaps it was and I missed it.

iWeb uses QuickTime to play both MP3 and .mov files so viewers will require QuickTime player to play

either format.

You need to use a different type pf player to suit all browsers and devices.

The most useful type is an HTML5 player which will work in all modern browsers and fallback to flash for out of date browsers like IE 6, 7 and 8 and Firefox which requires an OGG file.

Thanks again for the information, but I am still having trouble making this work. I'm not super tech savvy, so I need a little more information. I put the HTLM code listed on this page http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Website-Music-Players/HTML5-Audio.html into an HTML widget on iWeb. Not sure what to do next, I then pasted my audio file in to the same widget box, but all I see is a play button in a black box that says, "loading". It never stops saying loading. I tried other things as well, but the MP3 file won't play. How do I get the HTML code to run my audio file? I have looked through out the links you gave me, but I'm not picking up on to make it work.

The audio file(s) need to be uploaded in a folder to the root folder on the server and referencedd in the code.

Use an FTP appliation to upload a folder with a suitable name like "audio" containing your mp3/mp4 files. The URL to any file will be ...

Test this in the browser once you have uploaded the file and paste it into the code in the Snippet.
