Nov 8, 2012 1:19 AM in response to fromalaskaby Michael Wasley,Select what you want to cut
Command X
Click where you want to paste (or select what you want to replace)
Command V
The command key is the one with the Apple symbol.
If you prefer you can use the File Menu instead of Command X and V.

May 19, 2014 7:04 AM in response to fromalaskaby Dvj Deepak,In Mac OS X,Cut (Cmd+X) and Paste (Cmd+V) only works for Text but not for cutting and parting Files and Folders!!
To move Files and Folders by Cutting & Pasting, first do Cmd+V to copy the item from the source place & later,go to the destination folder and do Cmd+Opt+V...which pastes the item to the desstination, cutting from the previous location!!

Mar 27, 2016 11:05 PM in response to fromalaskaby WadeDeveloper,You can also do this with right clicking.
First, right click your target file/folder and select copy (you can cmd+C or however you choose to copy it).
Then just hold "option" down when you right click in your destination. The "move item here" option will be in the menu.
