Really slow export after upgrade 10.0.0.6

Hi FCPX users,

I've started many project with the older version 10.0.0.5 and have upgraded few days ago on the new 10.0.0.6

There are now a new export interface, and i would like to export my finished projects, so have choose the 720p preset.

It really seems that exporting my project are really slow, and i'm stucked on a 3 minutes projects that only arrived to 27% after 2 hours. I never had those kind of problem on my iMac (2011) with the older version.

I was proposed to duplicate the project, i do it (first option, only the project), but the problem was still there !

Some other solutions ?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Yep for sure so here is informations about those slow specific project.

imported file was DVCPRO HD 1080i50, PCM linéaire 48khz 1440x1080 (converted from M2T file with iHDClip

there are no specific filters. just text incrustation (but not on all the clip) and 1 green mask up a part of the video. Some of those project just have text incrustation. So i thought it was for now real basic thinks on this project. Previsualisation works well inside FCPX.

May be the problem would be those imported files. I will test as soon as possible a more basic render from that file and from the same that i could now convert with "ClipWarp".

Hi guys, I am having the same issue. After applying the latest update on my brand new fully loaded Mac Book Pro Retina it appears that share/export almost does not even work. When I send something to export it just sits at 0% in the Background tasks window. Even if it does export it takes almost 30 min or more for a 1080i 3min clip to export.

I must say I think this is a major bug as the previous version did not have any of these issues.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Lance

Are you doing anything while the background task is going on? I know it's called a background task, but if you do anything during export you're taking away system resources from the process.

The same thing happened with 10.0.4 I think. I number of people had significant export problems, while a great many others did not at all.

The tests I've been running don't show any significant change from previous versions, and for some things like nested compound clips it's significantly quicker.

The share bar is also incredibly inaccurate. I find on most of my exports that it starts very slowly and then gets to 50 or 70 percent and then takes off. In fact to Apple devices, the whole encode is about 50%, the remainder is loading into iTunes, which is a matter of seconds. It would be nice if there was a time remaining display in the background tasks HUD.

Luis, Why do you recommend deleting project renders in the Finder (rather than FCP)?

Of course, you can delete render files from FCP X itself (File->Delete Project Render Files...).

The matter of deleting render files sometimes comes up when FCP X gets stuck loading a project, and then one has to use the Finder; not so in the present case, as you very well point out. I am glad to see that indeed deleting render files, one way or another, seemed to solve the issue.
