eMac and Moto SLVR not finding each other with iSync

I have an unlocked SLVR L7 that I'm trying to use with iSync on my eMac. I turned on Bluetooth in the phone settings and hit "Find Me". Then I used iSync to find a new device and nothing happened. I know there are only 60 seconds available to find each other.

Also, what exactly does linking iSync to the phone do besides keep address book contacts? I would love to upload my own photos to my phone but the Motorola Phone Tools software that does that is Windows only 😟

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

iSync only tries to connect to phone the system knows. You have to use Bluetooth Setup Assistant first:
- open System Preferences -> Bluetooth -> Devices -> Setup New Device

Note that some recent Motorola phones seem to have issues with Blueooth and MacOS X. In <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303418>:

"iSync supports some versions of Motorola RAZR V3c, V3i, PEBL, SLVR L7, and V360 phones only over USB. If the Bluetooth Setup Assistant reports that "There were no supported services found on your device" when pairing your phone, this indicates that you will not be able to sync this phone using Bluetooth. To sync this phone with iSync use a USB data cable instead."

Well apparently I don't have Bluetooth on my computer. I have under Utilities "Bluetooth File Exchange" but nothing under System Preferences.

I did find a way to add my own photos to my SLVR though with T-Mobile's "My Album" service. You upload photos online, access your album with your phone and store the photos...so at least I got that figured out! Now I just need to find out how to transfer mp3's to it...

it's a lot easier if you connect using USB :

STEP 1
put your SLVR on "Memory Card" setting in Main Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> USB Settings

STEP 2
connect your SLVR to you eMac using a USB-cable
(a USB-to-mini-USB-cable that is...)

STEP 3
now your SLVR's memory card will show up on your eMac's desktop as a removable hard drive
browse to the folder called "Pictures" ; that's where you can find all snapshots you've taken with your SLVR...
...and you can put any pictures you want to get from your eMac onto your SLVR there...

Good Luck !
