unable to upgrade to 4 gig from 2 gig, I can upgrade up to 3 gig but computer will not boot with the 2 2 gig cards. I have a 24" mid 2007 imac

I have the correct cards. only one of the first set of cards worked. I installed the 2g cards. but would not boot. When i installed the cards one at a time with the origional 1 gig card it booted fine. it's just when both are installed. My Mac states it can handle a max of 4gig
they are both 2GB DDR2 cards
You could have a damaged slot or your RAM is corrupted. Talk with the shop you have bought the memory. If it doesn't work with other modules, take your iMac to an Apple Store
yeah both slots work with the 2 GB cards, just both 2 GB together things go haywire.
