When theres a will there is a way.

Possible solutions: VM like parallels below, Bootcamp and CrossOver which they gave away for free for halloween but you can still get a trial. Unfortunately all the solutions require some or alot of tech savvy but if your willing to put in the time 🙂

PS: diablo 3 would run natively in OSX and I usually play it in bootcamp but someone wanted to see the difference between the HD4000 and the GT650m inside parallels while gaming

Sorry, Apple didn't keep making the right moves to keep the 3D gaming crowd interested after the Intel processor switch, so 3D game developers left in droves, a few are on the Mac platform, but not as many as before.

I had a PowerMac G5 Dual and it was a great 3D gaming machine, plenty of games and I could get video card upgrades too.

But now the MacPro has been left to languish and there are no video card upgrades, it appears Apple wants to discontinue it. Also the rise of cheaper console 3D gaming has it effects too.

What is up with 3D gaming on Mac's?

BTW I was looking at getting one of these when they are for sale, can have 4 SLI video cards WOW!. 😁

Hi,

Mac OS X is based on the Linux operating system. This is, from the ground up, completely different then Windows.

Because Windows used to be on 99.9% of the computer systems the complete game industry aimed at Windows, therefor most of the games are still only Windows compatible. Because of Apple's/Mac's growth over the years, more and more games are not only being made for Windows but also for Mac OS.

The more popular titles like World of Warcraft and Diablo are 100% Mac compatible, but unfortunately the majority of games are not.

Regarding your question why you can't setup a game server or join your friends in games. This shouldn't be a problem at all, if the games you are refering to are Mac compatible. Please verify if your games are, if not there's your answer. If they are, please give us some more specific information so we can look into it for you more deeply.

Kind regards,

Hugo
