My app store will not open for me. I'm trying to upgrade my OS.

Everytime I try and open my app store, I receive a popup that says "App Store Quit Unexpectedly" and that it will be sent to Apple immediately.

I can't figure out how I'm going to upgrade my OS if I can't open up the app store, and haven't been able to for several days.

Any ideas?
