Q: How do I determine the size of my photo files?

I want to put my iPhoto pictures in a cloud.  I need to know how big it is to figure out what size memory I need to buy.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Depends on what you want to do

to put your photos someplace select tehm and export to a desktop folder - you can check its size using the finder

to put your iPhoto ibrary someplace check its size in the finder

Note that cloud backup is not great for the iPhoto library since it gets very large very quickly and it needs to be kept on a drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) -
