I just asked to have my charger replaced. They replaced it with a 60 w power adapter rather then a 85w magsafe one? What is the difference. I work in telecommunciations and I need my computer up and ready with full juice at a heart beat. What do you recommened in my line of business, a 60w power adapter or 85w magsafe one?

The difference is 25 watts. if your model came with an 85 watt charger then you received the wrong replacement. Do not use a 60 watt charger if your model requires the 85 watt charger.
You are right, I have a Macbook Pro 15' (mid 2009) with a 500 gig 7200 rpm drive. I dont think a 60w adapter is going to do me any good. Is there any way to know what adapter I have by looking at the adapter itself?
Its rating is printed right on the adapter, near the AC power connector.
You won't damage anything by using the 60W adapter, but get it replaced with the proper one. 60W may not be sufficient to run the computer and charge the battery at the same time.
