Apple TV no display settings on Plasma Television?

I have a Pioneer Plasma TV with HDMI input

Connected HDMI cable to Pioneer TV and other end of HDMI cable to Apple TV.

Connected power cable to Apple TV and light shows power on.

Turned on Pioneer TV and selected HDMI input but only see ablck screen

Any suggestions as to what may be the problem and how to correct?
