To eliminate errors, copy then paste your name and code information from Apples email into the QT registration window
Unfortunately I can't find that e-mail!!!
I have the code, but not the name I used for the registration...
you must enter the "registered to" information or QT will not be enabled.
the name is usually the same as your Apple log on name - you must have that or you wouldnt be able to send posts, so enter that.
If that doesnt work, try entering variations on your name:
J Smith
John Smith
Mr John Smith
Hi,
thanks for your help, but it doesn't work.
There's no a possibility to get back the email with the right name and organization?
I've tryes lots of possibility, butI purchased it long long time ago, and I've lost the email!
Apple keep purchasing details for 18 months after date of purchase
If your purchase is longer than that and you did not keep a copy of the reg details, the only way to register is to purchase QT Pro again.
Hi,
thanks a lot!
Actually, if I connect the hard drive with the back up of all the old system and I open QT 7, it seams installed as PRO! If I disconnect the hard drive, it require the code to be PRO.
If I go to REGISTRATION, when the hard drive is connected, it works a s PRO, but I can't find the details I've added for the registration, the code, and the other details... how or where can I find the files to import in the same folder of my hard disk?
On the external, look for this file:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.QuickTime.plist
It holds the Pro key information in plain text as part of a data array (at least under 10.6.8). You can view the file's content with Quick Look, a text editor such as TextWrangler, or a dedicated .plist reader such as Property List Editor.
Thanks a lot!
this solved all!
All the Best
Hi,
How do I do this on OS X 10.5 ?
Thank in advance for your help.
The Pro key is stored at the same location in 10.5 as in 10.6.
