I can't get the "now Playing" button to work on my Ipad podcasts app.

For some reason the "now playing" button will not work in my podcasts app on my Ipad. Nor can I return to the podcast controls if I go to the library to view other podcasts. Can anyone help with this?!?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 6.0.1

I reset my ipad (holding both lock button and screen button at same time until machine shuts down and apple icon appears), then the now playing button and podcasts worked.....
