Since I updated to OSX 10.8.2 my password is not being recognised by icloud. Yes I have tried changing it.

I cannot log in through system preferences or mail. I can access email through the icloud website but this is slow and tedious. Apple support are really very polite and nice and have 'escalated my problem' but that was 6 weeks ago. I am getting fed up waiting for someone to fix it. Anyone out there experiencing the same problem? Better still does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix it?
