    The only way you can unlock your phone is to call the carrier it is locked to and ask if they would unlock it for you.

    Actually, I think you can only unlock an iPhone with an AT&T carrier. No other carriers could allow you to unlock your iPhone. Also, your iPhone cannot be stolen or lost, which means that your IMEI is not on AT&T Blacklist. You don't have to unlock through phone. You could fill out an iPhone Unlock Request Form a computer.     Their will be a list of requirements to unlock your iPhone. Also, you have to be a current AT&T customer or an Former AT&T customer who could provide a phone number and/or account number. Check the "I have read and agree to the eligibility requirements for unlocking iPhone," and click "Agree." There you would complete personal information including last four digits of Social Security Number. (SSN)
