I got a brand new Ipad Mini, and for some reason when I went to plug it into my USB on my computer, my computer doesnt recognize it. It doesnt charge the mini or show up in itunes. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I have an early 2011 Mac Book Pro with OS X 10.7.5 The Ipad Mini is 16gb ios 6
I tried a softreset and restarting my computer.

Do you mean your iPad mini does not show up in iTunes or there is no iPad mini logo in iTunes?
Are you able to sync your iPad mini to iTunes?
The ipad mini does not show up under the device section of itunes. It wont even show up for me to be able to sync it.
I have itunes 10.7
Can you try to connect your iPad mini to a USB 3.0 port instead of a USB 2.0 port?
I connected my iPad mini via USB 3.0 port and was able to sync using iTunes 10.7
which one on the macbook pro early 2011 model would be the usb 3.0
Maybe you can just try all the USB port you have in your Mac and see which one works.
If not, you may have to wait until iTunes 11 is available to syn with you iPad mini.

Tried all of thise already.
Have you tried with USB 3.0 port?
According to the box, IPad mini requires iTunes 11 to work.
But I have no problem with iTune 10.7 with a window 8 computer.
My iPad mini is not recognised by my iTunes either. Tried all ports, not recognised
I have a new IPad Mini. My computer (iMac) didn't recognize it for syncing.
I updated the ITunes to level 11 and now it recognizes the IPad mini.
Like I said in the previous post, iPad mini requires iTunes 11 which was already released a few days back.
Please update your iTunes and it should recognised you iPad mini.
This is not working
I have iTunes 11.0 on a Mac with 10.6.8, when I plug in the mini ipad (I want to sync the ripped music). iPhoto opens as if I plugged in a camera. iTunes shows the mini but it is in gray and I can't acces it and all oh iTunes freezes unless I disconnect the mini
Any fixes yet or do we have to wait for a software update
so what should i do now..i have the same problem and i tried hours...nothing seems to help
