My computer crashed trying to update.

My computer is not working and it's the one I sync my iPad 1 and iPod to. Does this mean If I sync to another computer I will lose all of my music that I did not but purchase from iTunes. Also, what about my apps will I lose them also. Will I be able to recover the apps purchased. Really can't afford a new computer or I product at this time. Plus not having problems with my devices just need to update because everything now requires iOS 5 or better. Please tell me there is some way around all of this. Cost to much money - not to be able to get around this some how

Thanks for any help
