The volume rocker/button on my 7th gen Nano stopped working after one week of use. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Are there any software tricks for solving this issue, or is it a hardware failure?
If it's the latter, bad, Apple, bad.

Either way, I would consider returning it for a refund or replacement while you still have time. Some units do tend to be faulty as nothing is perfect.

I have the same problem but I read you have to restore settings.
Thanks for the information. After I posted my problem, I reset the device a few times, and it magically started working again. I haven't had the issue since, but it concerns me about the long term viability of this iPod, which is not necessarily an inexpensive device. I hope nobody else encounters this annoyance.
